Abyssal Rites (Tulsa) delivers a particularly dark onslaught of pure black metal. Think Judas Iscariot, Inquisition, Under the Sign of the Black Mark – era Bathory style…second wave with a dick.
Hersker (Tulsa) plays blistering, aggressive, war-obsessed black metal in the vein of mid-period Marduk and Setherial. Barbaric and hateful, with riffs like napalm fire.
Blackwell (STL) returns to Sinkhole with another volley of bestial black speed metal. If you’ve been around STL you should already know what’s up. FFO Impiety, Nifelheim, and Pig’s Blood.
